Andritsaina is a small town on the border of the Region Units of Ilia and Arcadia (it belongs administratively to Ilia). It is built amphitheatrically on the slopes of Mount Lykaion at an altitude of about 750 meters. It has a population of 790 inhabitants. Andritsaina played an important role both in the Revolution of “Orlofika” (1777) and during the Greek Revolution of 1821. In 1826, in fact, the city was completely destroyed by Ibrahim's troops.
In the historic town visitors walking through the cobbled alleys will admire its special stone mansions but also enjoy the beautiful view from the main square with the three tall plane trees. On the main road is the Trani Fountain, just opposite the main church of the city, Agios Nikolaos, and is the oldest fountain in the Peloponnese, having been built on August 10, 1724.
Finally, significant points of historical and cultural heritage in Andritsaina are the Historical Public Library of Andritsaina and the Folklore Museum of Andritsaina.
