Formerly known as the "National Stadium of Patras", the stadium is located in Patras, 220 km west of Athens. The stadium is in the south of Patras. It was built in 1981 and its last reconstruction took place in 2004. It has a capacity of 23,588 (seats). During the Olympic Games 2004, the stadium hosted football matches. It is worth mentioning that the reconstruction allows the future construction of an extension of the platforms on the east side, similar to the west one built-in 2004. If this happens in the future, the capacity of the stadium will increase by 6,500 more seats.
