The Evinos lake was built from a dam between the areas of Arachova, Agios Dimitrios and Nechori (Region Unit of Etoloakarnania) so that the waters of the Evinos river or Fidari and its tributaries are collected in this artificial lake. It is a soiled dam that has a height of 124 meters and a length of 640 meters. Its construction began in June 1992 and was completed in July 2001, thus forming the Evinolimni with a capacity of 250 million cubic meters and an area of 3.5 thousand acres. In recent years Evinos lake is an artificial lake that has been collecting water from the Evinos River for the water supply needs of Athens.
